Retro Joystick for MAME on PC?

Now that i've got my MAME working and all the roms (thanks Waka) I need a joystick. I wanted a wireless one but it seems that its too much hassle plus i'm skint.

What sticks does everyone else use and how much did they costs?

I'm thinking about buying this one when I get paid. It looks quite good for £34 delivered. 10ft cable will be handy as well.

Yeah on my Revo. I'm assuming it'll work as it says PS3/PS2 and PC compatible.

Yep using MAME for Windows. Got it running on a spare USB hard drive. Only tried a couple of roms but all seems to work fine but mortal kombat is crap with the analogue stick on my old joypad.

do you have a wii ? I've got a wiimote with an arcade stick that I use on mame on iPad. They can be connected to a pc via bluetooth.

I used an X-Arcade pc interface and wired it up to a full set of proper arcade controls.
and then wired it all in to a home made cab with working coin slot for credits! lol.
took a while, but was a much better experience than just playing on PC.

I like the idea of that! So I'd need a Bluetooth Dongle like this one, http://www.ebuyer.com/product/147293 - Then that joystick and a cheap wiimote. Its a bit more expensive than the wired controller once i've got the dongle and wiimote but it would be so much better wireless. I'd be worried that something didn't work though once i'd got it set up. I'll have to do some more research, damn proxy at work blocks gaming sites so hard to read up on it.

I have a usb HORI arcade stick that I use for Street Fighter etc on the xbox, works on my pc fine too. There are better sticks, but paid about 20 notes for it, and I'm pretty sure the stick isn't why I get my ass kicked.

I've bought one of the ones for £1.60 but my ferking paypal isn't working due to my card being registered with another account. Feck knows what that account is. Worth a punt @£1.60 though

I don't know if it was that exact one I bought obviously but it was a 2 quid jobby.

I used the motioninjoy drivers, which are a bit hard to configure but very versatile.

Oh, and I got it to control XBMC, not for MAME. It doesn't work properly though because I have to use eventghost to emulate remote control inputs and it doesn't recognize dpad input properly. So I got a fucking mouse. So much for geekin' eh?

My dongle arrived today but I've not had time to mess with it. Ive got my PS3 pad working but wired so I've been enjoying some Mortal Kombat and Killer Instincts. I'm think I might just get the wired joystick I linked too as it'll just work on any PC then.

I'm loving playing these old classics though
