yep I think it needs traffic but I found I didn't need leafpad.. the WEP key comes up at the end of the process when it shows you the details, it's the 'hex' key.. just note it down and then type in when connecting to the network..

I didn't have any success on my home wlan using miniwep-gtk even though I had three clients in use, there were very few packets.
    I tried forcing packets using

    sudo aireplay-ng -1 1 -a MYWLROUTERMAC wlan0

in a terminal window but just got an error message

"ioctl (SIOCSIWMODE) failed: Device or resource is busy ....."

Next, I tried "Feeding Bottle" in advanced mode. It is not exactly "point and click" but it worked in less than a minute

I've attached leafpad if anyone needs it.

If you're having problems getting results for WEP AP points, it's worth checking first that your wireless device is actually capable of injection. Some cards may well be picked up by beini, but not actually capable of injection, this is because many devices have various versions of the chipsets used and some have the injection ability inactive at chipset level.

If you run the following command in the root shell terminal:

Aireplay-ng -9 wlan0 (or whatever your device is listed as)

This should display some information and inform you if injection is working or not. It will also continue to list any AP's it detects along with stats for them. If you want to stop that, just press CTRL + C key to go back to command line.

Selecting WPA/WPA2 etc. is going to need a bit of research as unlike WEP, you would have to have a (Large) wordlist (Called a dictionary list) to try and find the WPA key.

WEP doesn't use this technique, hence it's easier to 'crack' as the software is basically scanning packets it intercepts and can finally find the key within these packets through decrypting them on the fly (Can be decrypted off line using various techniques as well).

Burner do you have any large dictionary lists that work with this ?
have you successfully tried your own WPA connection ?

No mate... I prefer to look into the workings of it's process to analyse data etc. so I make small dictionary lists with my intended 'target' included in the list, but never bothered having a huge list.

If you just want to fuck him off, you could send a mass denial of service, but that's probably going into being 'unethical' lol.

I found waiting around 5 hours after the last of our neighbours noise stopped - they stopped around 2am one day so just before 7am we started by firing up the telly upstairs playing a nice loud movie with lots of explosions etc.. and the surround sound on with plenty of bass, the stereo went on downstairs and hoover going etc.. had a positive effect - he stomped round after about 20 mins demanding we turned it down, got told how fecking inconsiderate they had been over the previous weeks and to feck off - also told him that if they kept their noise down after midnight then we wouldn't have any more problems - that was several years ago and still working

Grabbed my WEP key ahem... and realised that I didn't change the router's login details from admin/admin. Silly billy. Just trying to figure out if it's possible to monitor activity using Beini... any suggestions?

By the way, thanks to the original poster for the heads up, excellent little tool. Way easier than backtrack.

WEP is easy from command line with backtrack , but any other encryption needs rainbow tables and too much time to grab them

    for instance ...

7Gb Password list:[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I believe there is a TCZ of the ettercap package which can be run to show data traffic etc. Although I've never used it with Beini (used it often on Backtrack).
