Remove google place page?

Hi guys, I'm trying to help a mate of mine out. He's received a bad review on his google place page. He's a new startup and its the only review he's got. I've heard the full story and the guy that wrote it is out of order.

Is there a way to remove the place page from google? Or even deindex the full site and resubmit at a later date?

Any help would be good.

If it is a places listing, he should be able to remove it from here:

http://www.google.com/local/add/busi...hl=en-GB&gl=GB

He just needs to log in and delete the listing.

As for removing his website pages from Google's index, he should start by adding a robots.txt with the following:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /

This will stop all responsible robots, such as Googlebot, from accessing his web pages.

then he should use the page removal tool under the Google Webmaster Tools to remove pages:

https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals

Many thanks for that mate, I did try to delete the place page a couple of days ago for him via the above link. But the places page still appears. When I click on the link now it just gives you the options to add a new page?

Do you know if it takes a while for google to action?

Yes, as far as I know it won't be implemented until they do a maps update. So could take a few weeks.

Ah thats great thanks mate. I didn't realise that it wasn't instantaneous and thought i must have been doing something wrong.
