so care to share how you did it? might go for a double decker one!

you cant drink a load of it but nice for a change or a nice nipper infront of the fire or bbq in evening, gently melt the chocolate above pan of boiling water, once melted let cool a bit add the bottle of vodka keep stirring then transfer back to bottle and put in freezer.

5 mars bars was spot on i found

few other ways inc the dishwasher !! but i prefer the above method

Did you filter that mate? And I assume it wasn't fine filter paper?

I have been to a few vodka bars where they make their own and the mars wasn't great but I suspect they used bargain basement vodka to increase their margin. I would like to try it myself as well as cherry drops.

didnt filter as when melted you stir the vodka in to chocolate it goes a smooth silky texture like baileys etc but nicer IMO, would imagine the vodka does make a difference as you do still get a stong taste from it unlike skittles etc where you cant taste the vodka

I've done cherry drops, sensational.

I cheated and smashed the cherry drops with a hammer first. Shoved them in the vodka and then put them in a bowl of hot water and swirl them. Dissolved pretty quick from there once smashed.

leave to stand for two days and skim off any hydrogenated fats and then filtered with J Cloths via Funnel and a pint pot. Was beautiful when cold, with full fat coke.

I made some pear drops Vodka a few weeks back and it was fucking lethal. Used proper pear drops (not cheap pre bagged shite)

Overnight in the freezer, jobs good'un. Good for shots or with lemonade.

Yup makes a big difference, cheaper Vodka doesn't break down the sweets as good. I made Cherry Drops and Strawberry Millions with Red Square and that's wasn't too bad.

It's addictive. I must have made 7-8 sets of different stuff. Pear Drops, Cherry Drops, Sasperella, Lemon Sherberts, Gummy bears, Skittles, Kola Kubes, Strawberry Millions and a few more I've forgot.

I don't rate red square but then again I only just found out vladivar is actually Scottish! I prefer that to Smirnoff red with mixers. My Russian standard batch was the best I've made so far.

Im not a vodka lover more of a jamesons man myself.

But i must admit these look great how strong is the taste of vodka or is it a strong skittles flavour?

My latest batch isn't too nice so I will be putting more skittles in. You add to taste but my OP batch was very nice, easily drinkable straight out the freezer. I took the first batch on a mates hen weekend and me (the honorary hen) and the other girls did the lot before heading to a music festival and some of them were rather worse for wear before the first set started!

Probably been posted before but before a BBQ is due I usually do Jamie Olivers 'Vodka Melon'

Basically a few days beforehand you cut a smallish hole in the top of the water melon and jam a funnel in nice and hard... then over then next 2 or 3 days slowly pour in a bottle of good vodka and keep topping up as the melon absorbes the liquid.. absorbs the whole bottle eventually.

Then at the BBQ slice up and eat... then watch all your mates get wobbly !!!

I've mentioned it before but I also make a vodka watermelon cocktail and use the watermelon as a keg. Looks awesome.

Ok. Not so much lazy bastard (but a bit to be fair) moreso I'm working stupid hours up to Xmas. Anyone any hints to fast track this process? I've a bottle of Grey Goose sat here..

You can buy them from Amazon mate, few quid each!!!

Fast tracking would be to put the skittles in a dishwasher with NO soap on a hot quick cycle. Filtration will take longer, perhaps use a unscented filter and a cafetiere somehow? Or bash the skittles up first, as this will assist the dissolving time.
