Remove Parental Lock from 360 Console

Hi guys,

One of my friends bought his sons xbox round last night, he put a parental lock on it ages so his lad couldnt use 18+ games etc on it but his lads just had a slim and my mates going to have his old one, problem is he cant remember what he set the password to or the security question (i know!, i know!) is their an easy way to reset it or is he just going to have to ring Microsoft and get them to sort it out?

Reset parental controls:
Go to "Settings" and highlight the "Parental Control" option. Then, press X, Y, L, X at the passcode screen to reset the parental control setting to the default value.

thanks for the reply and yes mate, tried quite a few off google, couldnt get them to work

have you tried this one personally? i only ask because the hits i saw referred to the old blade dashboard console before the NXE update
which is obvious in most cases as you dont go to "Settings" anymore as the "Parental controls" option is next to "Settings" in the NXE

was hoping someone here has used this reset code with the NXE dashbaord

If you go into the system setting and then run the "Initial Setup" again, then it will ask you what you would like to do about parental setting, then do as you wish!!

Seems very easy to be able to override the lock. Is it that simple?

thanks for the help again mate, will test it when i get home from work but im sure i tried that already, cant remember tho did so many things when trying last night
but if not he can just ring Microsoft and get it sorted himself

If all else fails,
If you dump the nand and run it through 360 flash tool the code is in the smc (config option), dosn't need cpu key for this.

I know this works, cause ive had to do it... go to console settings / system info and do these actions using the game pad.....

LT,RT,X,Y,LB,RB,X,Y,A,UP (D PAD) This should sort it out...
