Updating to Redo a 4.2E Black Wii.

I softmodded my mates Wii today that was on 4.3 already and it worked a treat.
I thought I'd have a go of mine as a treat, but it does not seem to be working correctly anymore.

If I updated my softmodded 4.2E to 4.3E online, will it just make it stock again or will it brick it? Reason I ask is because I know how to Mod from 4.3 now and it will make life a lot easier than piss balling about trying to update from Homebrew.

It will make it stock mate. What method you using to SM it once its 4.3?

Indiana Pwns method via ModMii.

But I'm thinking I might just use ModMii from the off and get that to update the firmware instead. Seems the safer option. Everywhere says not to EVER update from Nintendo.

I think the safer option is actualy the way you first suggested. Thats how i would do it anway, update, then modmii for a "virgin" 4.3
