its been a little while since I last updated so here goes

    Nicci French -Blue Monday
Carolyn Hart - Yankee doodle dead
Bear Grylls - Mud sweat and tears
John Connelly - The burning soul
    Cherie Priest - Dreadnaught
    Cherie Priest - Clementine
    Cherie Priest - Bone Shaker
Ed Lee - The conman's daughter
Edwin Black - IBM and the Holocaust

I'm about to start Shelter by Harlan Coben but I'm pretty sure I've read it only it had a different cover

I'm thinking of trying a kindle free month, I get loads of free books from amazon even though I buy hard/paperbacks so I'm thinking of going a full month reading only books I can get for free from amazon, its not like there aren't loads in the crime and thriller section of the free books listings, thing is I bought a couple of hardbacks yesterday that I really want to read (500 by Matthew Quirk and The wrong man by Jason Dean) so it may have to wait a bit... well maybe a couple of days lol

    The missus is reading
50 Shades Of Grey by EL James.

It`s a bit on the raunchy sub/dom theme and she is loving it. so is every other fecker out there as it is No#1 in the waterstones stores and they sold out at tescos.
She got the 2nd to read after and i will probably get her the 3rd in the series.

Keeps her quiet whilst i browse DF LOL

Same here, the Mrs is off reading that whilst I abuse the xbox. Seems very popular with the ladies at the mo!

Been a while for me too updating this thread.

My Kindle has been sat redundant for a while whilst I opted for real books.

    I've read

Double Cross - Ben Macintyre << Another good WW2 history read though I now think he's visited every possible angle of spying in the war with his books.

Pathfinder - David Blakeley << A true account of the british pathfinder in Iraq. A goof one for the McNab fans.

Shadow Patrol - Alex Berenson << Good action easy read.

Only Time Will Tell - Jeffrey Archer << Book two in the Clifton Chronicles.

A Foreign Country . Charles Cummings << Great thriller

Its weird how they don't fix the release date before allowing digital copies to go online.

Was the same with Shadow Patrol - Alex Berenson. I got that by "free" D/L when I couldn't even buy it in the UK on Amazon.

The only one I've found that doesn't make this mistake is Jeffrey Archer who publishes in print first in India / Asia then Australia then it goes to the rest of the world and Kindle.

I've recently finished the latest Scott Mariani book - The Sacred Sword. As regular readers of the series will know - it's a cracking read and keeps the story ticking along nicely.

I'm also partway through Fire & Blood, the 3rd of Simon Scarrow's 4 books on the intertwined relationship between Napoleon & the Duke of Wellington. I've loved the first two books in the series, and the third is shaping up to be just as good. I've always been a big fan of Scarrow, ever since I read Under the Eagle and subsequently devoured the next 10 books in the Macro & Cato series.

Also, I've started to re-read Game of Thrones. I've read all 5 books in the series previously, but felt that my reading was a little rushed. Taking the time to go back and savour it, a chapter at a time, and I'm noticing far more details that I missed last time. No real rush on this mini-project though.

Not sure what's next after these. I could do with finding another series to get my teeth into. Preferably something with at least 6-8 books already in it. Will check Amazon and do some digging.

Make sure that you read the "new" one in sequence, the wind through the keyhole or something like that....
Great series of books, slow going but worth it in the long run...

    Thanks to crashtestmac

I wasn't aware of this but just doing a quick google suggests I should read it when I finish book 4?

    Yes...

It is the most recently written but fits in as book 4b....

Does not matter if you skip it but it is meant to fit in there.

Other than proof reading my own I read The accidental time traveler by Sharon Griffiths, I started it because I thought it could have been like quantum leap but it wasn't and to be honest I was pleasantly surprised, it was a little long winded in sections but it wrapped up really nicely. I find that sometimes when i read a book by someone I've not heard off or read before it takes me a while to get into it but not this time I got into it as soon as I started it and was a bit sad to finish it

As a side note if you want to read a novella I've wrote its available for free until the 8th of august just follow the link in the dog and duck
