Got my sons Wii done at the weekend (wiikey2??)
Also got a couple of discs with it to show it works (and its all fine)
Tried doing mine and can I hell get backups to play

I`m using

Firstly what drive have you got in it as if it's one of the newer d3 drives it won't read backups Sure if you change the drive board it will cure it though

its brand new, however it does read and play back-ups (I`ve got 4 in the house working fine that someone else done for me)
the issue is trying to burn mine

why would I waste my money.................. because its for my 5 year old son, and I cant be arsed buying games or doing the whole firmware flashing harddrive nonsense that I done with my ps3 and now never go near the bloody thing, the plan is to grab ISO`s and burn them on printable DVDs so he can see what games he has and I save a penny or 2.

help would be nice instead of analysis of why I`ve done something.

Got any other discs you can try m8? Have you tried burning them at a slower speed?

tried TDK DVD-R, IMJET DVD-R, then asked the folk I got the ones that worked off what they used and then bought 50 of them, coaster everytime !

done all 1 to 8 speeds, tried NERO ROM and IMGBurn (just updated to 2.5.5.0 incase that was it)

tad frustrating

What burner are you using? do you have a different one you could try? have you tried updating the fw on the burner?

thats the bit I`m a bit worried about, its the burner that came with the PC maybe 5 years ago !

Its a NEC DVD_RW ND-3550A
Driver version is 5.1.2535.0
Driver date is 01/07/2001 !!!!!!!!! can that be right ??? lol

Are you burning games that match the region and are not stripped iso's.

Try doing a straight copy of one of the disks you know is working.

Use Imgburn and write to the g05 media at 4x. Also try Verbatim dvd-r media or Taiyo Yuden. Those along with G04 media I always found best.

ok, tried copying the discs I have and I cant !!!! IMGburn creates an ISO thats like 4Kb ????????
Nero simply says CANNOT COPY THIS DISC TO A DVD

Can you expand on this........... only been doing PS stuff where region is not an issue.
