Tech 3DS Gets an official price-cut

imho the system's a bit of a fail, bring on the new PS Vita I say, i'll still get mario kart + mario world 3D of course but I get really fedup of the crap battery life on the 3DS and just how ugly it looks. Anyway, I think it's apparent that it's a bit of a fail if they're offering such a big reduction on the RRP already

Sales aren't really that low, considering the time of the year and the economical situation. I find this a strange move. If I get some free stuff I'll be happy though.

some info on the games we will get:

The new prices will be effective from August 12th. However, if you've already bought a Nintendo 3DS and are feeling a little annoyed by this rather early price cut, never fear - Nintendo has you covered, too.

Anyone who has bought - or buys - a Nintendo 3DS before August 11th will be rewarded with 20 free games before the year is out.

On September 1st, you'll be able to grab a set of 10 free NES games, including Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong Jr, Balloon Fight, Ice Climber, andThe Legend of Zelda. These games will become available later on to purchase for other 3DS owners.

Then, before the end of 2011, ten free Game Boy Advance titles will become available to download from the eShop, again exclusively for those who purchased the console before August 11th.

Games on this list include Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare Inc: Mega Microgames, andMario vs. Donkey Kong. These games will apparently never be available to other 3DS owners, and will be exclusive to 'Ambassadors'.

Could this perhaps be the boost that the Nintendo 3DS needed?
The list of free games is pretty impressive, especially the GBA stuff. I wish they would port Warioware Twisted, especially as Europe never saw an official release.

Yeah, you go to the store, touch the menu button, (top left of the lower screen), scroll down to 'Settings / Other', then scroll down to 'Titles you've Downloaded' and they should be listed there with a 'Download' button.
