Changing nameservers on 1&1 it just cant be done !

Am i missing something here, I cant change the name servers on 1&1 to point to my Hostgator Hosting ?
Wondering if anyone can help but ive searched forums and followed online tutorials and i just cant get up the correct options.

I think you can, select your package that the domain is contracted to, then domains, select the domain in question, click DNS and finally change it from "1and1 nameserver" to "my nameserver" and you should be able to manually enter new details.

Have you got a redirect or forward on? Check the destination same screen as where you select dns.

The Destination tab is not selectable it just remains in grey ( all the other options are in dark blue "destination remains in grey )

Just been into my account and as soon as I select my domain all options at top are selectable, the only advice I now have is to contact support in my experience they are usually pretty fast at getting back to you.

you have either just registered the domain or they have not registered it properly, in that menu you made an image from you should have an option to change from "1&1 nameservers" to "my nameservers"

what you posted is usually there when you first reg a domain

Great, Done and sorted that helped, called them and as you suggested quick response.
The problems now solved as i had the servers directed to the website builder somehow and this needs to be deleted first.

Their email servers are utter shite, or were a few years ago so I havn't used them since.

I have never had problems with there email servers tbh, only groan I have got is no push email unless you want to pay £5 per month!!!
