IBM (LENOVO) R52 Laptop

They are R52 (1858 model) the specs are as here...http://www.superwarehouse.com/IBM_Th...89FU/p/1482528(however, they have 512mb installed on the one I have)

The laptops are fully tested with a fresh install of Windows XP

There is a spare memory slot underneath these laptops so its easy to wack in more memory. As mentioned before they will run Windows 7 fine (If you want to go down that road) .These Laptops are pretty robust and were made from quality parts, it is pretty difficult to break them. Yeah ok, the graphics card isn't up to much and you only get a DVD reader, but with wireless built in they are ideal for Internet and word processing.

Yeah sorry, I shall try to post some photo's today if I get chance. However, to answer your questions...

Yes, They all come with charger and fully working. I do not sell any that are not in tip top condition... ie, I check for faults and scrap any that have cracks, broken parts etc. I then clean them up and wipe the HD and do a fresh install of XP (obviously the process off imaging the laptop takes about 40 mins, so if they play up in that period I will also scrap them)

The R52 is not a "tuffbook" however it is a very robust machine, hence they tend not to break physically and marks tend not to be not very noticeable at all.

If I was to overly critical of the Laptops, I would say the following....

A) As mentioned before, these are a few years old so battery life can't be promised. Again after imagining I boot using battery... if it dies instantly or quickly I will scrap the battery. However, after that its a bit of a pot pouri over how long the battery lasts.

B) I would check the (posted above) wiki on the laptop regarding the hard drives. I believe IBM restricted which Hard drives could be used on this laptop, therefore getting replacements isn't straight forward. Obviously these are aging laptops so occasionally the hard drives play up. Again during imaging I look for any signs of trouble, however I have had the occasional drive play up after they have had a laptop... in this case I do have a pool of replacements if you run into trouble (but obviously limited stock)

C) Sometimes I have noticed very slight screen pixel darkening on some machines (a small patch in the top left and top right corner). Its only the kind of thing you only notice when you have white / very light colour screen.

Apart from that they are great!

That's for adapting a serial 25 pin port to a 9 pin port, and not for converting a parallel one?
