    Help Problem connecting PC to TV (Inc Video)

    When I built up my new gaming rig I decided I'd also install XBMC and connect to my TV.

    My system is running Windows 7 SP1 X64 and I've got an nVidia GeForce 460GTX 1GB.
    The card has two DVI's and a Mini-HDMI.
    My TV is a Samsung LE40C530.
    If I connect my laptop HDMI-HDMI to the TV on either 3 HDMI ports, it works fine.
    I bought a 10m Mini-HDMI to HDMI cable and ran the cable from my PC at one side of the room to the TV on the other.

    What happens, is if I connect the HDMI to HDMI1 or HDMI3 the TV says "No signal" when the relevant input is selected... however if I disconnect the HDMI cable from the TV it states "Check connection".

    If I connect the cable to HDMI2 it works, but flicks on and off without me doing anything. Have a look at the video I made below;

    N
    ote that when the video was running, there was no action on the keyboard/mouse and the cables connected didn't move in the slightest.

    Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I've listed a URL to the cable below.

    What resolution is it set too? Try it at a lower res? Also I think one hdmi port will be just for pcs mine has one that only a pc works on. I had to set the screen size from auto to fit screen as well. A few things to check for you

    Good call!

    It works flawlessly at 1280x720! The system automatically switches Audio to the TV also which is a bonus.

    Bit confused as to why it won't work at 1920x1080 though... I wonder if the cable is too long?

    Did you try it on 1080p with it set to fit to screen instead of 16:9?

    Just a guess but maybe signal degradation, a friend of my had similar issue and it was down to cable length and quality of cable

    Yeah, most of the time the signal isn't displaying on the TV at all.

    I think this is exactly the issue... long cable at a cheap price. I may live with it at 720p!
