    Help Best router

I'm now running the Virgin hub in modem only and using a Belkin router. The router seems unreliable (along with Virgin, but that's a different story).

I want a new router that can handle 4/5 devices using the internet at the same time, including streaming HD internally. 17 other wireless networks show up on my laptop (albeit at low strength), I don't know if this has been affecting reliability. What should I get?

Ideally I'd probably like to put Tomatoe or DD-WRT on but if it works fine without and has decent features I guess it would be fine.

I can't find it atm but there is a guide on the net rounding up the best DD-WRT capable routers (I have not tried Tomato). The most affordable was the D-Link DIR-615 as it is a freebie with Virgin so loads on ebay, a netgear and Linksys got a good write up but the best all round was an Asus. You could look at the Asus DSL routers then cross-reference them with the compatibility lists on DD-WRT/Tomato.
