Dyanmic defending and CPU cheating!

Just need to get this off my chest! Dynamic defending - fucking . It is. Don't try and excuse it, its shit. Jockeying is all well and good, but for me I'm ending up seeing possession stats in their 30%'s, the CPU gets the ball and keeps it, it makes the whole game boring. I don't want to jockey for 7 minutes out of 8, I want to be attacked, or attack them back. The idea is good, and I applaud EA for trying something new, but really, this just results in boring matches where you end up watching the ball for hours on end.

Also, the CPU cheating. Why do it? I'd gone back to legacy defending, was winning matches quite comfortable, thinking about moving up to world class for a challenge, and then I went to Swansea. My team were all fully fit, but I couldn't get the ball. Couldn't get it at all, CPU was spraying the ball around like Gerrard on acid, cutting open my defence. At one point towards the end of the first half (shortly before I switched off in frustration!) I was down to 19% possession, and not a single shot on goal. Losing to Liverpool with a 95th minute Gerrard free kick fucked me off, but I accepted it COULD happen (but please dont let it this weekend), but seeing Swansea totally dominate possession is jsut stupid. Clearly the CPU is making it more challenging, but I've not asked it to, so fuck right off!

I'm not liking this at all The fun element seems to have been taken out of the game, focus too much on ball possession and not the pure fun arcade elements from previous years. Its like they've decided this year is all about passing and retention a la Barcelona, which is fine if you like that game, if you want a simulation - but I don't, I want the arcade fun back. Looks like I'll be trading in for PES!

Stop playing the CPU then, i never start a season because single player on football games is so boring. play online its just as frustrating but you wont get pissed off with people just passing it about on you.

But the fun for me has always been in winning offline tournaments, winning the leagues, and more recently building my virtual pro. The times I play (early mornings at weekends) very few of my friends are online (bunch of layabouts) and I don't like playing randoms

For offline change the defending back to the old system, Legacy Defending. Granted you won't learn the new system ready for online games but at least you'll enjoy it more Saying that, once you get used to the new defending you will find it so much easier to get the ball back.

Also if you pause the game and go to User Customisation and CPU Customisation you can tweak how the CPU and you're teams AI plays to your needs. There's a few settings on the official forums that make the game more realistic.

Thats 16 times ive nearly smashed my pad or tv up.

I reckon ive dominated 75% of my games but when it comes to people who use a rapid striker, im fucked.

Lol I'm exactly the same, but I've already broke a pad and put an hole in the wall thanks to the fooking game!

Like yesterday, I beat someone 7-1, he weren't a bad player really knew alot of tricks. But then the next game I couldn't do a thing, he just played it to his strikers they'd do a 1-2 around my defence and he'd be through. I just couldn't defend at all, yet the game before I defended brilliantly!

I haven't got his pissed off with a game before, yet I still keep playing it....

i lost 27 matt, how do you think i feel especially having a 10 game losing streak and being relegated.

im getting there now though i say but knowing me i only need one bad result and im fucked again. I threw my joypad a couple of times once i considered throwing it through my TV because Andy Smith was pissing me off with his breakdown of my defence.

still not giving up till i reach division 1, im a 3 star player now too

The key to defending i have found is to be patient, don't force players out of position sit in the hole and use contain in and around the box, wait for the cpu to make a mistake and then counter attack, having fast strikers seems essential.

A lot of the time i will send a CPU out to 1 player and mark the obvious pass he is going to make,but just stand off a little so he can play it and then jump in for the ball

Previous Fifas have been all about high pressure for the ball, this one is the complete opposite, its about patience.

I just won A cup easily on World Class beating Roma 3-0 in the final on UT.

My first online game was in that cash for money, i lost 8-2 (pretty sure he was using a lag switch)

I was mad so i went on a head to head and won the cup second try

Try playing as brazil. They cant defend for shit but are quality on the break

Im in division 4 on Xbox, haven't played it for ages though. There was tougher competition in division 8 and 9 to be honest...
