A knight looks upon the enemy defenses
Elsewhere, a Rook does the same
A Knight confers with his King and Queen
Whereas the enemy knight stands before the enemy Monarchy and their religious adviser
A joust perhaps?

Great translucency and the position of the pieces work too Ian - you can see you thought about tit.
Not sure of the title though...
Paul.

Lol cheers Paul. I often do think about tit but mostly in the plural haha.
I admit, the title is tenuous but well, Chess is a game of skill between royal households as such and I thought it would probably generate a bit of traffic there's also quite a bit of scope for other placements on there too.
Cheers dude.
Ps today, I R Barry even more so. FFS
LMAO well you started the thing about tit (take a nose at your post ) but I doubt in my current state I could even croak let alone croon.
None of them do anything for me. I think it would look better with a regular chess set TBH. With all the pieces glowing you don't really get a sense of detail for the texture.

LOL at least you're honest mate, which is important
Although, there's not really any texture in smooth glass but I do appreciate what you're saying. I think if I were to re-create these shots with a regular chess set (which I'd certainly like to have a go of), I'd prefer something a little more special than your average cheap set. I think a nice carved one would be lovely although I'm afraid those can cost a little more. There's some rather nice ones here http://www.chessbaron.co.uk/?gclid=C...FcUf4QodQkBbOQ
With these shots I was looking for something a little different. Something to make use of lighting that isn't normally done or at least not often seen.
Appreciate your honesty
Ahh, spotted it...
(Whistles as he walks off glancing around at the rooftops... )
cracking set of pics ian love use of the coloured lighting
dpSparhawk (11th October 2011)
Just having another look at these with a view to having ago myself . Was just wondering how the red and blue lighting was achieved . With torches or with pp ..
Used a tablet PC mate and a custom swatch. Basically a 1024x768 Dual Colour image. One side Green or Blue, one side Red.
I opened up the JPEG file of the swatch and opened it full screen, then rested the chess set on top of the tablet PC. I'd use an iPad but haven't succumbed to buying one
The red/green swatch I used is here http://ipc.smugmug.com/photos/i-CRcD.../i-CRcDKpM.jpg
Very cleaver will have to have a look into that
