Problem with an acekerd2i

I got handed a DSi and an acekard2i and asked to make it work.
so downloaded the bits from the AK site, ran the update on my DS lite and put the aikio? file and folder on the memory card.

Card opens up with the menu no problem and when I run a file it says loading then system file missing.

What have I done wrong?

could it be a fake card LJ? Not really sure what else to suggest as it sounds like you have done everything ok.

Looking at my sd card, I have a __aio folder and an akmenu4.nds.

If you have the relevant files in place, then your next move will be to reflash the cartridge firmware. Obviously because you cant run a .nds file, you will have to use an alternative method to do this, and this means getting hold of someone elses AceKard 2i and flashing that one first, then afterwards it allows you to flash another. You should flash it with the 3ds firmware.

The firmware flashing does that need to be done in the DSi it will be used in or can I do it in my DS lite?

just to clarify LJ, you boot the acekard and you can see the .nds files but when you try to run one you get the error?

The usual problem with 'i' cards is that the fw on the DSi is a newer one that rejects the flash card, so in this situation you would use a DSlite (or a DSi with an old fw on), if the DSi is seeing hte card and booting it, thats not the problem.

Have you ran this ?Firmware Update of AK2i for console 3DS2.1 and DSi1.4.3. Please refer to the readme file in the package.
