abgx360: DAE.bin Silently Updated on XBL on Current Plublic Dashboard

DAE.bin is being silently updated through Xbox Live with an additional challenge table! This happens on the current public dashboard version 2.0.13604.0 and there is no confirmation dialog or any known means to prevent it besides disconnecting your console from the internet.

If your DAE.bin has already been silently updated, AP25 backups that are patched with current AP25 replay data will fail the normal AP25 challenges outright! Note that all XGD3 games use AP25.

Use your originals if you want to play on Xbox Live.

Initial indications seem to be showing that that each dae.bin is unique to individual consoles (rather than one for all that its been up to now)....which is not good....it would mean I guess that you would have to extract your own dae.bin, load it into xbc, and create your own backups, and they would work, assuming dae.bin wasnt to change again.
This would also mean (and again this is my speculation), that if you were to download an image, even knowing your dae.bin wouldnt help you because you would have to have the disc present to rip your individual ap25 challenge tables.
This may well be a game changer !

no they would fail ap25 and you will get black screen

They don't boot and they mark the xval for a failed ap25 challenge, which could, though has not yet, be used for a banwave I guess.

That implies to me that not all of the titles contain AP25....we knew this to be the case prior to XGD3, but I had read elsewhere that 100% of XGD3 titles did contain AP25, with a bit of luck, this may not be the case.

Hopefully, time will tell I suppose. How is it possible each dae.bin can have specific ap25 per console tho? Wouldnt that mean the codes could be changed time and time again, infinitely

Did you try playing the game with the new dae.bin? You could be flagged for any reason to be honest.

initial thoughts on this are hitachi 32-59 box prices will go through the roof

My JTAG box is an old Samsung MS28, and has never been connected to live in its life. I wonder if I could get away with flashing it back to stock nand and use it as a regular box, then coolrunner my jasper.

Saying that, ive only ever played 2 games in the last year on my main box, and I bought them both....so I don't know why I am even considering messing around !

Well I wasn't flagged and never have been - always super careful.
Who knows if I have a new bin file if it's a silent update :-)
seems rather coincidental that I have got a failed challenge in the last 2 weeks
