ibooks for ipad2

hi there just got a new ipad today want to read books but it telling me the ibooks reader is free but when i try and get it it asking for my card details is that normal as i dont think it is or is there an other way round it to get the ibooks reader tia

This is normal behaviour of the App Store, it would do the same if you attempt to "Buy" any app be it paid or free ones. It won't charge you, but will save you putting your details in should you want to buy a chargable app.

Going forward, each time you want to download/buy an app - you just put your password in.

thanks for that i found afterwords with playing about is there a way i can install app without paying for them off the net

mine is only a few weeks old went on jailbreakme.com and it's done give it a go
