Off back to work for 4 weeks. Have a good Christmas and New Year!

Im off back to work for 4 weeks tomorrow, so I miss out on a decent Christmas and New Year. I find it hard sometimes, as I havent been home for xmas in years - next year Ill be telling my work to get stuffed so I can have an xmas at home. Ill have xmas dinner on the ship, but the food isnt great so im not expecting much.

I get off the ship on Jan 2nd so going to have my xmas then, buy a tree etc. Ill have access to the internet on the ship but to be honest my internet service with talktalk was more reliable, and thats saying something! We lose the connection all the time.

So anyway, have a good xmas folks and a happy new year!

in the middle of the north sea! shit or what!, hope the weather is crap which means the ship wont be working... its a standby vessel for the rigs so we work weather dependant...

the money is good, its why im still doing the job :-p

Hope you get Christmas at home mate, I was fortunate enough that my relief quit so I extended the last trip so I could get Christmas off, can't see that happening too often though

to be honest i cant see my staying at sea for too much longer, as soon as a shore job comes up that is ideal or i re-train as something else ill be out of the game. too hard being away at times like these.

well im off again, cant be arsed with this but has to be done. Just left the missus, pretty emotional to say the least. keeps getting harder and harder to leave the ones you love for such long periods of time. cant see me doing this into my old age, especially when i have kids.

hopefully the ships internet will be fixed and i can keep up to date with the forum, if not speak in 28 days all!
