Help one for a network guru.

At my work we have a pc and the Credit card machine going through a bt router, The problem lies in that now we have to be pci compliant, so they carry out a scan and check for vulnerabilities on the ip, they then send a report of open ports etc, can some one have a look over it and advise me of what software/hardware i need to get to sort out the problems.

The reports contains data about my company ect so will send it by pm if anybody requests it.

    Many thanks

It could be as easy as disabling the port on the router

Done this PCI thing for a few of out customers who use PDQ machines thay all end up having to change the router
We always fitted Drayteks 2820s but they have been replaced by the better spec 2830 same price but a lot better

@ modcoms got a draytek 2830, was there any special options I have to select/enable or is it ready for the scan from the off.

I agree with Modcoms use a draytek, It will provide all facilities you will need plus more. You could setup a VLAN for the PDQ and the PC disable all inbound ports for that VLAN. Quite simple to setup. by default the draytek has no open ports
