Nintendo DS ok, I know I'm 38 but...

Santa left me a 3ds with Mario Kart for Christmas. Wow, what a game !

Anyway, what other games do I need to pick up ? The Mario game is a must but what about others ?

    Pro Evo ?
    Ridge Racer ?

Any of the launch titles worth getting ?

Not really interested in the Zelda game (shock horror!) But if there's anything else you guys can recommend, please do.

    Cheers,

    Malty

Currys are doing Ridge Racer for a tenner mate. They are also doing Monkey Ball for about £16. What's up with Zelda? Have you already completed the N64 version?

    Thanks to flik

tbh Mario Kart and Mario Land 3D are pretty much only decent games on the 3DS imho. I quite like ghost-recon, if you're into turn-based strategy games that's worth picking up, otherwise i'm completely underwhelmed by the entire 3DS catalogue (apart from Zelda, but if you don't like it or have already played it a few times on n64 then it's just an expensive trip down memory lane).

it just doesn't interest me, had a go with a Zelda game on the cube and got thoroughly bored in about half an hour.

The words turn based strategy have told me enough tbh, my idea of hell !

I only really considered the two Mario games but pro evo is tempting me and also ridge with it being so cheap.

Is pilot wings worth picking up ?

I got bored of Pilot wings really easily, and ridge racer just didn't keep me interested tbh, I think I only got it as I think I have it on every single other platform and didn't want to leave the 3DS out Certainly if you love ridge racer, this is a decent version, better than the DS version was anyway.

Ridge Racer is pretty good, If you can find it for 20 - 25 I'd say grab it, although dont expect anything new, or revolutionary with the 3D. Same goes for Pilotwings too, its good but falls short of its potential really, I found I spent far longer on the fre roaming game which was very simple than the missions.

If you liked professor layton, theres the capcom clone too, although I dunno if its any cop, I was thinking of getting it but then the 4th Layton game came out for the DS.

As far as I am concerned, Mario Kart and Mario land justify the console now, I love Mario land and its amazing how much content there is in there.

Dont forget there some decent stuff on the online market thingie, especially the way forward games like Mighty Switch Force. I'm not sure if the full DSi catalogue is available, but if you can download Riskys revenge, thats one of their best and very old school.

Only in Britain….do we use the word “politics” to describe the process of Government. “Poli” in Latin meaning “many” and “tics” meaning “bloodsucking
    creatures”

Yeah it's superb that game, and just when you think you've finished it, you realise you're only half way!

Some great games if you ask me, in no particular order..

    Dead or alive dimensions
    Street fighter 4
    Mario land 3d
    Mario kart 7
Ridge racer 3d (loved this game and still play it)
    Star fox 64 3d
    Fifa 12
    Pilot wings

Really love the 3ds... And didn't think I would do...

FIFA 12 is 17.99 from amazon, there are some great deals on 3ds games if you shop around.

yeah that was a great surprise, I was feeling a little deflated that I had finished it and that it had been very easy too. The second half of the game picks up the difficulty too, perfick!

If you like fighters, DOA: Dimensions is an essential purchase, much better than the overhyped SSFIV:3D Edition, Puzzle Bobble is fun if you can pick it up for under a tenner and Sonic Generations is now only about £20 and well worth the money. There are only 14 levels but there's shitloads of replay value as there are also 100 challenges to complete.

No, what you actually get is a free download of the re-imagined NES (?) original that has been given a 3D makeover. If you've registered your details with Ninty and register the points that came with the games then Nintendo will send you an e-mail containing a password that gives you your free download which goes active on 05-01-12

yea i'm considering PullBlox (called Pushmo in all the reviews)

Mario 3D is still stunning me so I think I'll wait to finish that before picking up anything else. Ridge Racer, Starfox (never played the original) and one of the two football games are on my radar at the moment.

How are people finding Fifa 12 ?
