You should have said "can you put it to one side for me" it would have made more sense?

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that... but then why would you bother to reserve when the geezer had 6 ships in stock? I don't imagine that model Greek cruise liners are exactly flying off the shelves Perhaps LS can explain this so called 'joke' a little better

But then the joke doesn't work. Regardless of turn of phrase the original punchline in the joke was correct. However after the diagnosis on the joke no punchline will be able to revive it from it's watery grave.

mind you, I think the captain of that boat was halfway through a bottle while he was steering the fecker!
