I can have a look at it for you if you want mate and have access to schematic drawings if needed, but all it looks like is a new ribbon connector and a couple of trace repairs.

Have a few dead boards here I can steal one off for ya.

    Thanks to Mario87

No reason why that would not work, but be carful and make sure there are no shorts and that wires can't short together when being put back together.

I have done similar on an old SATA HDD. The plastic "L" backplate for the SATA cable snapped off, so I stripped the cable and soldered each wire to the correct pin on the HDD. Tested it and it worked, then covered it all in hot glue to prevent it accidentally shorting out when being put back together or moved, etc. Still works fine to this day, just means if the driver ever gets changed a new SATA cable will be needed with it.

The only real issue I can see for you by doing it that way is if you ever need to open it in the future for whatever reason (failed laser for example), it's going to be a pain in the ass because it's all been perminantly soldered together. What you could do is create your own connector. Kynar wire soldered to each end (the drive and the motherboard), but in the middle it has connectors that can easily be seperated should the drive ever need to be removed in the future. That would work just fine and eliminate any issue of being perminantly attached.

However replacing the ribbon connector probably involves the least work.
