    Default vu+ box alternative

I have spent a long time reading about satellite receiver boxes, I have searched for my answers to no avail so hopefully someone can advise.

I bought a skybox f5s and for the cheap price it's very good, but I am thinking of upgrading for something with twin tuner.

Another thing I really want is a decent epg on 28.2e.
I also own a humax foxsat hdr which is excellent so the f5s seems poor in comparison (interface, recording features etc).

Their seems to be a lot of love for the vu+ duo and I would like one (if it ticks all the boxes of what I want), but the vu is quite expensive.

So my question is simply, can anyone recommend something similar?
The epg for scheduling recordings with series link is the most important feature.
And if the box can update its channel list automatically would be very useful, I must have updated the channel list manually at least 3 times in less than 2 weeks.

    Thanks in advance

Ps. In a perfect world the box I'm after Will do the following.
    *7 day epg
    *twin tuner
    *HD
*series link recording (intelligent enough to alter timer if a program is broadcast late)
    *Built in hard drive
*easy to find images to flash
    *and of course, cccam support

Leeching, turning up with your hand out, particularly prevalent in Radio Codes, Cable and sattelite then disappearing.

Leeching by asking if anyone can recommend a box to use?

    Hi
if you saw the sheer volume and blatent abuse of this forum you would understand, long term members help as much if not more than get info, they keep the forum alive through donations and sponsorship through the VIP system and every day people join up and their first post is I want this or that. Sometimes they are lucky enough to get a radio code or whatever, then they are off, never to be seen again, only they post on other forums that they got what they wanted here and we get 10 more. If I was you I would have tried to at least attempt to make it look like the only reason you joined this forum was not to get info. You sound like you would really fit in here with your interests so I hope you can understand and perhaps when u have been here for a while you will see why so many members find this so annoying m8.
    thanks

Ok fair enough, I can respect that.
A few years ago I wrote a lengthy tutorial on afterdawn forum of how to ftp from the original Xbox to pc, one of the people who replied to my post was having trouble so I helped him get it sorted, then one day I spotted my tutorial copied and pasted on another thread where he took full credit for it, I was quite p**sed off to be honest.
And if I am going to be totally honest my reason to join the forum was to get advice but I will be giving help were I can.
Like one time a while back when win7 first came out I joined a win7 forum just to create a tutorial of how I got my gfx card recognised cos it took me so long to do it I thought I would share the experience, and I got alot of messages from happy people, lol.
As I learn I am always happy to share

    Hi
I am not a mod here so nothing to do with me but hopefully this above will clear this up. I am sure when you look around the forum you will find many members that help as you did and give members stuff that would cost them money elsewhere.

I would personally not purchase a box at this time. Have a look at the other thread about cs. Stick to what you have for now.

Lol eblaster the doom and gloom merchant e2 has provided the goods for me for more years than I can remember, many issues along the way have been overcome and solutions always found. Even if we have to use a mix of sat and IP tech I believe the quad would be up to the job. I take your point however, interesting times ahead .

I'm gonna take an opportunity to hijack this thread, I have a Technomate 9100s and need an alternative. I've been looking at the spiderbox 9000HD and the technomate 5402 CI+ M2.

Not too bothered about CS as I don't watch much TV and still use a Diablo CAM.
