Attention Android based media player hardware...anyone in teh know?

I have noticed a few places here in the local tech buildings seem to have Android based media players on display, hooked up to TVs and Monitors, they look pretty smart and seem to cost from about 800 yuan, which is a mere 80 of your English pounds.

Anyone used one of these or have any experience? thinking about it, I am not sure of any decent media players for Android in the first place, but the potential for something must be pretty high.

I'd imagine they have the edge over the WDTV box things that were popular a while ago, which I was going to buy as a quick fix before I decide if I should have my Revo sent over.

The creation of billions of galaxies each containing trillions of stars each with their own solar systems, some with planets that have evolved civilisations with billions of different life forms. OR The creation of just your imagination?

My only concern is from my experience of Android is that implementation of hardware acceleration of different codecs is quite varied by Android version and hardware - would want to be sure that HD stuff was going to work before diving in.

Had a mailshot from *** the other week about a Noontec A9 - there's a review of it here - says it's not as good as the AC Ryan above:

cheers all, it does seem the hardware and the software are not quite in a good relationship just yet, the boxes seem to be a nicer option if you want to add a web browser to your telly and play angry birds, media playing is a little behind. Still curious about em but I think I'll hold off. It'll be a long time before anything matches the awe of XBMC innit bruv.
