    Attention A theory: T-1000 syndrome

It has just occurred to me that a number of shows suffer from T-1000 syndrome.

Regardless of the fact that Terminator 3 was cheesy and crap, the enemy had no chance as the writers had pulled out the most badass enemy possible in T2. No matter what terminator they came up with in T3, there was no way it was going to measure up to the T-1000. So I like to think of T-1000 syndrome as 'bringing the most badass bad guy out too early, and not being able to better it later'.

A few shows that have done the same:

Dexter S4 - Trinity - none of the bad guys have measured up since, and they won't do in the (what will presumably be) final 2 seasons. This is the primary example of T-1000 syndrome.
Buffy S5 - Glory - how exactly can you surpass fighting a 'god'?
The Shield S5 - Kavanaugh - a bit tenuous this as they did carry it off and the show still ended really well, but they did kind of coast through S6 as Kavanaugh was just too cool to match
Oz S4 - Adebisi - he was the epitome of bad guy!

Forecast T-100 issues - potential spoilers if you're not up to date:

    Spoiler:
Breaking Bad S4 - Gus - What are they going to do now?
Boardwalk Empire S2 - Jimmy - I still can't get over them killing off the show's best character; certainly a bold move. But what now?

    Shooooooo-ryuken!

    Spoiler:
I think in Breaking Bad, the only real next step is for Walt to mature into the T-1000 himself

Boardwalk Empire - Well, at some stage, Al Capone is going to start his run to the top...

I actually thought T3 terminator was the best, and Sylar the best villain in Heroes, funny how we see things differently

I completely agree with Dexter. Haven't watched it since the epic finale in S4.
