Photos Finally, a warm day and some free time.

Believe it or not, this is the first Butterfly shot I've ever managed. They never stay still long enough and I've never really been to a place where they're plentiful. Not the best composition but the only shot I got before it flitted off.

Spotted this Shield Bug in the privet. Almost missed it entirely.

I was going to bin this but realised that this "lady" appears to be squeezing one out!!! PMSL

Looks like a speckled wood Ian the butterfly. Good to see the sun came out finally, sadly for most of the day, I was busy elsewhere and unable to use my camera. I got about 10 photos, one of which I added to the forums.

    Paul.

    Cheers Paul for the ID

Yeah I'm hoping on a bit more sun today but I don't finish till 6pm this evening so it'll be starting to get colder and most of the garden will be in shade by the time I get home pff! :/

    Thanks to dpSparhawk

Lovely pics Ian, Butterflies are a pain to capture but well worth it when you do!

    Cheers guys .

I'm hoping to head out to some butterfly frequented places this summer. Cliff, do you know whether Pickering Pastures near Hale is any good?

It's ok mate but i'd go to the wildflower gardens on Bowring Park Road, it's a small park.
I'd imagine you'd get alot more butterfly shots there when the flowers start blooming , I've not Been for a few years but drive past it now and again.

    Thanks to cybollox
