Question High Tech Chrome Paint: Anyone know how this works?

The chrome finish on this is unbelievable. Anyone know how it works. Apparently can be applied to metal, wood, plastic, even rubber and styrofoam.

Says 'High Tech Chrome Paint' and is said to be a paint process, but doesn't go on like paint. It looks like it is first sprayed with an activator, possibly with detergent to evenly wet the surface. Followed by a chemical that reacts with the activator to give a superb chrome finish. M8 of mine read somewhere that there is a lot of distilled water involved. A chemical mixed with distilled water would make sense looking at the video. If it was that quantity of paint being sprayed it would be a horrible mess of paint runs. And it is dried off with an air blow gun which would cause paint to spread and crease. Diy kits available in the states for around $400. Would be ideal for motorbike parts. (">

That looks like the same technique by which mirrors are manufactured.

seen this chrome application on one of those west coast custom ride tv programmes and yes they used lots of distilled water and chemicals .

i think the first application went wrong as the water was purified enough but the second application looked good , i also remember on of the staff climbing into the water tank afterwards for a bet then having a few days in hospital
