Question Bicycle: Self-servicing hyrdraulic disc brakes?

    I know..it's a pushbike....

I have a mountain bike with hydraulic brakes that just don't stop me....they will need recharging I reckon...how do I do that then?

Probably need a bleed. Method depends on make and model. Any idea what they are?

I need new pads on mine and a slightly warped disc looking at. Recon I'll just take it to theshop for a check up instead of doing it myself.

Thanks for the posts chaps/chapettes...got the brakes sorted, went for a spin then this happened:

    cogs.jpg

I've got a Barracuda Pro Series 24-speed....so 17-24 are no more and 9-16 on the middle cog keep trying to jump onto 17-24 so I've only got gears 1-8: perfect if I'm trying to climb a vertical cliff-face...:-S

On a concrete path, went down a steep incline and up the other side forgot I was in 24th gear (the top downhill gear) and peddled, clunk, crack and a fat(tish) 42yo ended up on the ground in front of the dog-walkers....

Incidentally I did notice that - as it's clutched - I was getting gear slippage.
