    Info Vtech Innotab Homebrew

I started having a go at doing some homebrew on the thing, and thought scummVM would be a good choice due to kids games available such as putt-putt, fatty bear, etc

Work in progress, no input or sound as yet...

(this is my dev unit that I bought with a cracked screen)

I've managed to get touch screen input working last night (well 1:50am so I suppose it was early this morning ), still need to sort out some graphics issues and the sound...

    Update:

I worked out how to use the Innotab's accelerometer, now you can play it by tilting the innotab

Neat stuff mate. The missis is getting one for the youngest so I might get her to pick up an extra one as she says they're on sale at the moment on amazon. Have you made any more progress?

Excellent work. I played Day of the Tentacle on the InnoTab, and it ran nicely.

Yeah, made quite a bit of progress with it, although I've not touched it for a couple of weeks now...

I tried porting an atari emulator to it, but it ran a bit too slow 43% of full speed I may have been able to speed it up but I'd have to implement the hardware blitter which I think would be a bit too much work at the moment.

It is also possible to backup the cartridges to the SD card, so they don't get damaged by the little ones...

Searched all over for 'info' on these innotabs since we have one. Every source comes back to Mick! Would love to know how to back-up the cartridges or anything else it can do without destroying the thing

Theres a bit info on elinux.org, which explains the brief outline of running your own stuff.

But feel free to let me know what you want to do, and I'll see if I can help..

can the processor not be over clocked. an early firmware like 1.6 donut - 2.2 froyo with a custom kernel might work ok. i have an android phone with 600mhz processor and 185mb of ram running firmware built for 2.5ghz processor and 2gb of ram. which is a massive difference between the two. i will download an early cyanogenmod source code and investigate.
