New Vix Image 2.4 VU+ Duo

Has anyone tried this yet? Just wondering whether its worth updating as my set up is fine as it is.

I've got it on mine and its a return to form for vix after their last effort which kept freezing and green screening on mine .

But if you're happy with what you've got on now I'd stick with it.

Its better than 2.3 a lot lighter. Most of the additional packages are now not installed by default. But if you go and try to use a package like openvpn it will offer to install it which is great. I am sticking with 2.3 (old kernel). You can make an image backup via Settings, VIX, image backup. Copy the image files via FTP to your desktop so you can restore via USB.

I'm using VIX 2.4 and loving it.
Really nice and quick and as said above, doesn't run all the plugins that I didn't want.

I have a vu+duo how would i go about updating this? Also installign sgtflipflops channel list?

Let google be your friend and download ViX-2.4.96-vuduo_usb.zip

Then.
1. format a usb stick fat32
2. extract the zip file to the stick keeping the folder structure
3. put the usb stick in the front usb slot of duo
4. make sure that the rear usb slot of the duo is empty
5. switch on duo and follow the intsructions on the display.

As with all box flashes, don't be alarmed when the first boot takes a while.

6. follow the setup wizard to set up your box

yes it will. And as this is completely new from 2.3 you can't back up 2.3 and and restore your old setting to 2.4

their may be a risk of your HDD not reading on the new image. The older image used EXT3 new image uses EXT4 it may ask you to reinitilise i.e format.

How would I know if I have the patch installed?

If you are not sure then run it anyway. running twice does no harm

i set 5 things to record over a period of a day. Hard locked on me. Have this prob with originals and clones. Mabee its a plugin i am using

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread but anyone know where to find the patch for clones?

efore Upgrading the IC, Please take out 232 Board, null modem cable from the receiver and Power off the receiver.

2. Connect the 232 board and null modem cable with receiver and your computer.



3. Extract the file

Run the file secupd111230.exe in Folder /renewaes/;

Click Open File button in yellow color, then select duo scret bin file.





4. Confirm all the procedures are correct. Then Power on the receiver, after few seconds, it will appear the message "Update Complete ! ".

Now the IC updating is finished, you can safely upgrade the newly images of Vu+ DUO.
