Two things I can't seem to figure out on G888, can we change the background wallpaper? Can't seem to find any options. Also the option for usb mass storage mode seems to have dissappeared - if I plug the phone into my pc I just get the mobile partner cd and two removable drives I can't use (no sd card in phone).

Well I have my G300. Its now network unlocked, rooted, and has a de-branded rom on it.
Have to say I'm very impressed. Brilliant value for £95 !

Didn't fit my phone right - the new ones were smaller. Got one jammed in for a bit by using a load of matchsticks and the power graph actually seemed to be dropping more consistently than my original which would have little dips and peaks everywhere. However it's not the right size. Will see what happens with ebay.

i use my phone to output using the line out to my hi fi in the kitchen and use an xmini spreaker in the garden

if anybody else notices the volume is quiet when using this method i have found a program that boosts it quite a bit

I see there are problems for people who jumped in with previous rom's getting ICS on.

Fortunately mine is stock but I might wait for a UK launch.

tonight i updated to ics from b888 rom everything went fine

i also rooted unlocked the bootloader and installed custom recovery

ics runs lovely and i am very impressed

im in the process of trying out mui rom now and just finished installing it

quick update been messing with the miu rom and i think its fantastic

some really nice touches like the lockscreen music player

everything seems to be working fine :-)

after a play with the miu rom i can say its not as smooth as the stock ics

so i have reverted back to that in the meantime

stock ics with apex launcher with free laminated theme and dpi set to 210 is silky smooth :-)

forgot to add you can freeze the chinese apps as well just hold the app and drag it to top of the screen then choose disable :-)

Paul will have his Modaco rom out soon, probably today, with the few Chinese apps removed, and english Gapps installed etc. I'm just going to hang on to do mine until then.
This phone is an absolute bargain for £89 !

Where is the best place to get hold of one of these?
All the ones I can find on eBay are going for over £100

They were £89 at Tesco this week (see thread on hotukdeals), that was £99 with a £10 new customer coupon code, and free delivery to store.
Otherise they are £99 on the Vodamoan site, or £99 + £10 mandatory topup at a Vodamoan shop.
Then its £5.19 to get the network unlock code off ebay sellers (as i did).

nova launcher seems to suite the g300 on ics very well its really smooth
