Need a bit of help with Wordpress plugin

I am trying to get a wordpress site up for a charity group, Det has helped me out a lot but I am stuck with one plugin. The plugin is called The Events Calendar, the problem is it displays a transparent background so text doesn't stand out against the dark background of my theme.

The top three hits in google seem to have the same problem but I don't understand CSS so have no idea how to fix it.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to have the background white like on the other pages? I have tried changing the templates in the plugin to default Events template and default page template but neither make any difference.

Any help greatly appreciated.

In your style.css file

go to line 90.

should be #content.

the part that says background: change where it says transparant to #FFF that will change it to white, check it hasnt affected any other pages, if it doesnt resolve it if you want let me know and I'll take a look at it.

ok forget that, you'll lose the border if you do that.

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't find any reference to 'transparent' when I searched the css and I found two references to #content, one had background as "background: url(images/bg.png) repeat;", the other was a slider and already used #FFF.

If you have any more ideas I will try those too

Hi I have reposted your question on another forum. What theme are you using and is the above the site that you are editing ? I am just asking now because I know from previous experience that I will be asked these questions lol.

There is still a bit which does not have a white background at the top and bottom but that isn't important, you have done the bit I really needed help with.

Was that change made to the theme or plugin? I assume if I update the theme/plugin I will lose your hack?

the change was made to the events.css file in the plugin. If you update and lose it just let me know

When I get a chance I'll install a version of the theme and plugin offline and take a look at the top and bottom parts, may need some extra css.
