No, I'm happy with VIX that has pretty much daily updates.

I was waiting eagerly on this box as my potential first delve into sat stuff so I've read a ton of shit online. The ViX team have an image ready and working, they just aren't going to release it currently as there is bad support from Vu+/Marusys. After looking a bit further it all seems to boil down to the fact that Vu hack dvbapp/enigma2 code rather than producing proper drivers and I think ViX are trying to put whatever pressure they can on Vu to change their ways. Ultimately though it could just end up as a standoff and there might never be a ViX image released.

i am happy with my QUAD, only thing it lacks over this is gigabit LAN. I bet vu wont have that working till mid 2013.

VIX image is out now for solo 2. Some noted faults related to the drivers but hopefully Vu resolve them soon.

Honestly Im still waiting on the thing coming it should be here on Monday or Tuesday myhermes has to be the worst courier company ever I could have walked to England to collect it and walk back I would still get home before them fuck pots would have deliverd it.

I just had something arrive from that shower of shit after 18 days, it only had 10 fucking miles to be delivered.

Got my box today after a long wait from my hermes.



First the box looks and feels smooth and feels as if it's well built with good quality parts and not old cheap shit.



Inside you get the usual stuff set up guide , remote , hdd cables , 2 pin adapter , What i did notice was there was a power pack that came with it simular to the dreambox power pack.

Inside of the reciever it's really easy to put in a hdd just loosen the bracket which contains 3 screws and atach your 2.5 hdd and screw the bracket back in and attach the cables




Another thing I liked was the size compared to an old vu duo its a lot smaller as you can see below



Now I've everything installed the box is a dream its so smooth its unreal it came with the Vu software on the box it wasn't great so I put on open vix 3.0. what I've noticed is the plugins and menus and the channel zapping are so fast switching from menu to menu or channel to channel there is no hanging or spining vix in the corner. I installed rte player 1 channel and ice films via blue pannel . On my old duo they would hang and take a few minutes to load. I tried a few films on the solo 2 via 1channel and Icefilms and as soon as i select a source it comes on instant which is great. Epg is the same as duo full 7 days via cross epg the tuners also seem stable Ive tuner A connected to 28.2 and the 2nd tuner connected to my motor. I would highly reconmend this box all though I've only had it a day I really like it and worth every penny.

I never really use any other features on my box except the television so doubt I'd notice much missing.

If you have any enigma based box you'd be mad not to use 1Channel, it's like Netflix except it's free and has EVERY program ever made by the looks of things

I got it on bst-secure mate cheaper than wos. and well worth the upgrade.

Its basiclly the same mate with a few extras all the same buttons and controls mate. there is a few bugs from from the 3.0 image

1- Playback during recording can be problematic
2- Streaming can sometimes have issues (not all streams will play)
3- Blindscan doesn't work
4- 'Transcoding for mobile devices' is in it's beta-state and can have issues (Not tested by ViX Team to Android devices)
5- Internal loopthrough works only from tuner B to tuner A (so the feed must be connected to tuner B)
6- Power-button on front panel is very weak and not controllable
7- Playback of recorded encrypted event whilst still recording not functioning.

I have them both installed on the vu also have them installed on my atv.
