Default Help with Network file viewing on VU+ DUO

Hello all I’m after a bit of help please as I have tried to read through posts but can’t seem to get this working
I’m running BH 1.7.9 on my VU+DUO which is connected to my network that comprises of 4 pc’s
All pc’s have multiple drives in and are shared so they can all view/change each other’s drives/folders etc
Now I wanted to be able to view files (movies photos etc) off each pc on my VU+
I have tried streaming using VLC but couldn’t get this going so I though I should just be able to mount the pc’s drives on the VU+ and view that way but I go into mount manager and then add new mount the VU+ see’s all pc’s but when I click on any of them it does not expand so I cannot see any drives/folder etc
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

OK just added my NAS box to mine

Menu -> Setup -> System -> Network -> Network Browser

Selected my NAS box from the list and added username and password and save settings

Then exit out and go back into the main menu then media player and my NAS box shows up / I can play any files from there

    Thanks to prezzy

i tried to re-flash the box with a VIX image to see if that was the same but for some reason i couldnt set it up right non of the menu screens fitted withing the tv screen (cutting the first few letters off etc)

anyone know of a plug in that might help or even a different media player than windows media player 11 that i could try on the pc's?

With VIX there is a setting for OSD you need to alter the width and height of the display to get it to display correctly for your TV

Sorry can't help with as to why the pc's are not displaying properly in the BH media player it has always worked viewing stuff from my NAS box

VIX devs would recommend you turn off overscan on your tv, that would probably sort any issues with menus not fitting.

    Hi Everyone,
I've got the same problem as described above on my VU+ Solo2 BH image. Did anyone managed to solve this problem?

I have the same problem on VIX i think its permission problems. Make sure your shared folders have guest access. You can add the share manually you just need to put the credentials in.

    Thanks to eblaster101

Manually add your pc/nas ip address, then scan the ip.
Was automatic for VIX image, but had to do manually for BH image
