Anyone got Sky Fibre Broadband?

Hi all,

I'm looking at upgrading to either Sky Fibre or BT Infinity Fibre broadband.


I've just been reading the thread about BT Infinity and it sounds great!
The only thing that puts me off is the P2P throttling


Sky say their Fibre service is totally unlimited without any restrictions or fair usage policy so I'm really tempted to go for this.

I just wondered if anyone already had Sky Fibre and could tell me if it's as good as it sounds?

I tried to get Sky Fibre, but was told it wasn't available in my area yet, even though BT Infinity is, strange as it's the same technology!

As Sky Fibre IS the same as BT Infinity, I would highly recommend it.
I think the same thing will happen with P2P. BT does throttle Torrent traffic at certain times a day, but if you use Newsgroups you wont be effected. They do advertise as a totally unlimited/unthrottled service (apart from torrents).

My fastest broadband speed with Sky was 6Mb.
My fastest speed with BT Infinity (once it stables up) is 69Mb.
I consider the jump worth the upgrade even though I've had numerous problems with my connection. That being said, they are doing everything possible to fix my problems, including digging up the street and putting new cable in direct to my house!

I never look at the FUP's anyway as this companies are always changing the goal posts with them anyway. Once demand for Fibre goes up, the FUP's are likely to change anyway.

I've had sky for about a month and its very good so far, I have no complaints. There is another thread about sky fibre on here which has more info.

Apparently from middle of July SKY fibre are going in synch with Openreach
in other words if you could get BT infinity then you will be able to get Sky Fibre.

Thats what they told me on the phone.. so hopefully I can order Fibre next month here in Felixstowe... better than my current 16.5MB connection :-)
