No...a multiroom subscription needs to be connected to the telephone line of the account holder constantly.

The 2nd box dials out at regular intervals to check its still at the account holders address.

If it isnt you will receive a bill for a full sub price...if its in Germany you are likely to be in further trouble.

Thankyou for your reply but,my second room where i would use a secon box is upstairs in my bedroom there ias no telephone line in there anyway for a second box to ring out on,i thought phone lines were only meant to be connected for the first 12 months is that true?

Not on a multiroom subscription....they need to be connected for as long as the reduced sub is in place...the 12 months you refer to is the original box.

If you have a multiroom box fitted by Sky they will insist on having it connected to the phone line....and may even charge you for running an extention cable.

I know it didnt work about 6 months ago, but not sure if anything has changed since then.

And regarding the main question this thread is about, why not set up a second box in your current house but not connect it to a tv, and buy a slingbox and get him to watch and control the skybox via software?

Both me and my sister use multiroom subscriptions off my dads account at our homes ,and have done so for years . no phone line In at all . I get full package in hd for a tenner ( when I remember to pay him ) . I am sure its right that they dial back but ours don't :-). If we ever got caught out u get a letter warning first so we would all rotate our box s for a month ( if that did ever happen ) let then dial back at his then await the next letter . I justify it because we don't watch much tv but have paid hundreds in the past to sky + ya gotta try your luck sometimes ...

Worst case scenario , they start charging full wack ( cannot prove anything to back date ) but so what , if u wanted sky anyway u would be paying . Would just cancel one of his other multi rooms n give him mine .

Is it advisable for people to be bragging about fraud on an open forum?

I think you've missed the point. I am not saying you should go to prison. I didn't write the law. I am just questioning the intelligence of talking about your illegal activities on a forum that is most probably monitored by Sky.

    Like I said I don't care :-)

I know exactly what I am writing, no need to question my intelligence .

In fact you should really be praising it for having all areas covered with regards to the subject and then thanking me for sharing it lmfao .
