I don't see what the point of renting a TS server is? My friends and I just use a public one, setup a password protected room, job done, seems a waste of cash to rent a server with so many public ones around?

well bit the bullet & bought arma2 & add on from steam(still cant believe i sold my original game in jan this year on ebay) 24.99 again.using dayz commander, it is addictive, loving it so far.although
i must of died at least 6 times upto now.

Im going to bite the bullet and buy a TS server sometime this week, it will be specifically for all of us playing DayZ.

If we all use DayZ Commander and all post our usernames we can find each other on servers, and use the TS server to Comm easily as the IP/Hostname wont change etc

everyone up for this, will it get used.....

mates just got a new server, if you search in dayz commander for "dayzch" you will get a list of vilayer servers, his is called "spectres server" its off hive so your charecter is restricted to that same server which means no dupers, combat loggers, loot farming etc, come along and play its only been up a day so all vehicles will be spawing soon,

his name on there is spectre, and mines adam , side chat enabled to say hi when you join and let him no i sent you and it means youll get help rather than a bullet in the head straihgt away!

Arma is a different beast to most games mate. One of my friends has a i7 2600k and a GTX680 and it runs quite bad on his rig at times. A lot more factors than what you normally just look for. I'm pretty sure Arma2 has a free or lite version, try that before parting with your cash just incase.

Yeah plenty of good guides on-line on how to improve performance, these are two I'd recommend watching, especially using RAMDISK if you have enough ram that is.

I've been on this server a few days, Admin's a good guy we went car hunting yesterday Server seems very stable, although I keep having battleye issues with it. Only appears to be this one server though none of the other Vilayer servers.
