Liam Walsh crashes out of Ricky Burns fight
Liam Walsh is out of his scheduled December 15th WBO lightweight title challenge against Ricky Burns.

He can't take part in the bout due to injuries suffered in a recent car crash.

Walsh, who holds the Commonwealth and WBO European titles, told British Boxers: "I'm devastated at the moment that I’m not going to be challenging Burns for the world title. I have followed the advice of the doctors and withdrawn from the fight. The doctors have said hopefully I'll be able to resume training in four weeks.

"To fight for the world is my dream and this is just a set back and hope that I can get the opportunity to fight Burns again. I wish Burns all the best in his title defence and all the other lads on the show.”

    Hi
Liam now has shitload of belts and is under rated, you never hear about him yet i believe he has four belts at present and never been beaten, he has beaten several boxers who were rated higher than himself, also he is a really nice guy. My dad has been really sick and Liam was bringing some tickets round to my house and heard it was my Dads birthday and was a massive boxing fan, he brought with him a big framed signed photo of him and his brothers wishing him all the best and took time out on the way to his training to sit and chat with Dad about his plans and aims - he is a decent young lad and this is why he has such a large fanatical bunch of fans.
    Cheers

Totally agree he is under rated as are some over rated just a shame the hype around boxing can distract from some great talent.

    Great night tonight,

Fury, Eubank Jnr, Frampton, Walsh, and then UFC in the early hours.

First UFC even with a Co ME and Main Even with all femals, shows how much the company has matured from Dana White saying women will never fight in the UFC.

Liam never beaten WBO european belts at two weights, Commonwealth champion at s/featherweight and British Champion at S/ Feather weight, yet yet when on the bill with certain ex olympians who have been beaten some several times as pro and some not gold medalists Liam then knocked off top of the bill.

    Which Olympians?

Chunky is the man and also a really nice guy.

Audley... I don't know him, but obviously can't take a punch.
