Speed cameras/danger zones

Just found out France will now fine you for having speed camera warnings on your tom tom (unless you disable it) or tom tom have a download called danger zones does anybody have access to these files please for legit tom tom but speed camera is for testing only thanks

What the fuck is up with France?!

Are they that bored, they are thinking up stupid new rules to make money?!

That said, I think this has always been the case, I remember someone mentioning it a few years back when I last drove there.

First the breathalyser requirement and now fining people for using a sat nav warning them of speed cameras. How the hell are they going to prove that? Pull you over and then go through your sat nav to see what you've got on it?

What next, checking your CD collection for pirate copies?

Think when I next drive to Spain, I will bypass France alltogether and get the fucking ferry to Santander.

Must admit i love France but tom tom have somehow got around it by using what they now call a danger zone so not as specific to pinpoint a camera just so you know your in that zone and yeah the breathalyser most of the french havnt heard of the rule but they sell them in the supermarkets about a euro im told

ps: sat navs have been allowed but you were not allowed to be alerted for radar guns and the like

Fuck I am off driving round France in a couple of weeks and thought this was bollocks obv not!

Will just use the sat nav on my phone with the warnings if I get pulled will switch it off.

You can use your sat nav but you must disable speed camera option not heard of them checking any sat navs yet ......but they will

Go with the phone option.
They wont check to see if the phones got Sat Nav.
If they decide they want to go through your phone, tell them they need a warrant - just make sure it's Pin Code locked.

I'm reasonably sure the Privacy Act outweighs this total BS.

They will target Brits with this nonsense, it's ludicrous - goodbye to France' tourism trade.

This law has been deemed 'unenforceable' but it's better to be safe than sorry.
