A British photographer has won a Guinness World Record for a giant panoramic image comprising more than 80,000 separate pictures and measuring around 1km long.

Clare Newton won the longest photo honour after spending almost two years photographing 1,200 people for a project called Jump4London.
The 81,663 images were stitched together for an exhibition at the Excel centre in London's Docklands.

Clare, who raced to finish the project in time for the Olympics, told Amateur Photographer that it took nearly three days to print the final image.
The images depict the ‘multi-cultural demographics of Londoners of all ages, shapes and occupations, literally jumping for joy,' added Clare who is based in Hackney.
The Guinness World Record certificates states that Clare achieved the record for the ‘largest composite photograph exhibition'.

The exhibit was printed in 10m sections using an Afga Anapurna M2050 machine, according to an article in PrintWeek published earlier this month.
