Well my toy came yesterday, hence gale force winds and torrential rain (sorry about that).
Had a little play today, first time, looks like I'm gonna have some fun with this.

You may want to consider the phantom (or newly announced phantom 2) as well if you already have a gopro also they have larger Rx/tx distance as they are not reliant on wifi like the vision is.

Do they do the camera add on separately so i could buy the quadcopter then later add the camera? - dont really wanto go do the go pro camera as i want to be able to do the First Person Live view thing... finding it hard to justify £843 for what will just be a toy for me..

I don't think they sell their own camera like the one in the vision separately, but you can buy aftermarket fpv kits, fatshark spring to mind. Then you get the better range of the phantom/2 and fpv capabilities of the Vision 2 but without its limited range.

The gopro 3+ has built in wifi so you kind of use that for fpv! never tried it on mine! getting used to flying the thing normally before I decide on an fpv setup

I got my new phantom 2 today but more importantly the new Zenmuse H3-2D Gimbal with it, I'm blown away with how steady this gimbal keeps the camera. No matter what direction the quad is moving the camera stays level, i'm super impressed, and I can control it all from the transmitter too.

Crap video, but I couldn't wait until daylight tomorrow to try it out so just a demo of the gimbal in action

Anyone want to buy a phantom 1 quad?

I think i need to add one of these to my new toy list, would be great scoping fields for crop marks when out metal detecting.

Cheers mate, how are you getting on with yours? I saw over at djiguys that someone had managed to take the cam off the visio and attach a zenmuse gimbal to the vision, that might be worth considering to get smoother vids?

No worries, would have been a long-shot with the wife anyway.
