surely that would be one of them gprs gyrocopters with the screen built into the handset?
one of me pals has one with his gopro hero on - i want one
Technically if you go down the FPV route then you need to get approval from the Civil Aviation Authority as it's illegal to use FPV without their approval as you are not counted as being "in charge" or the vehicle.
A few people in the US have now had cease & desist letters from the FAA over there, also if you're using the camera for commercial purposes on the quad you need approval too.
I was just watching that Blackpool tower vid yesterday, looks like he's got some range on that thing. I do plan on taking mine to the lakes at some point although I don't expect anything as good as that.
Iirc flying autonomously via GPS requires a license too, for the same reason (you have to be able to see the aircraft and be in control of it at all times).
So tying the quad to your in car GPS and sending it up to follow your car by the GPS and monitor the traffic around you live on screen in your car, is a no no lol
Likewise Amazon would need a license to do their drone deliveries that were in the news before Xmas.
I read a couple of reports saying that people are getting round the commercial use rule by only charging for the video editing service, to make their money btw.

cracking views mate, looks like you got the hang of the flying then.

Cheers mate, yeah, slowly getting there, no need for prop guards anymore anyway. Going to get an FPV setup ordered this week as it was getting hard to see where the quad was when i was flying down the valley during one run at the weekend.
Especially liking the sunrise over the mountain tops and the car chase near the end. Without FPV!!! Where were you standing?

Cheers mate, how's your flying going? My little brother's looking at getting a phantom now too, evreryone's going quad mad I'm determined to get an octo by the end of the year which can carry my SLR, want to get some nice shots at night with my D800.
At 4:17 on the left hand side you can see me standing
Great video, I have ordered the parts to build a quad from hobbyking since seeing the vids on DF. Can't wait to build it now.

Love the video , new bug may be starting now don't tell the wife ! 😀

Finally got a chance to test my FPV setup today, using a 200mW transmitter, some circular polarized antenna and a 32ch diversity 7" monitor as receiver managed to keep a reasonable picture for 1.2km, I reckon i'd have gotten another .5k out of it before it got too fuzzy. I went for this monitor because unlike a lot of others it doesn't blue-screen when it doesn't get a signal, so no matter what it tries to display what it receives.
For anyone interested the kit I got for FPV was
DJI iOSD Mini
Blackpearl 32ch 7" Diversity Monitor
5.87Ghz Circular Polarized Antenna's
200mw FPV 32channel transmitter
Still got some tinkering around to do, weather wasn't best today so didn't get a chance to try out each channel + band to see what gives me best range/quality, but so far, very happy.

Must say I watched all of these videos yesterday and I was pretty much gobsmacked. Fantastic stuff. I thought the Blackpool one was superb, and Mark Spencer has also done one near Hednesford raceway which is local for me.
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...
this was some guy using fpv..got skills.

After seeing that Blackpool video, I know I want one. Nothing too flash, but something that'll fly, record and cost no more than £150 (the wife has budgeted me). Over time I want to implement FPV.
The T380 looks like a good start, but are there any other recommendations?
I found this - http://www.hobbywow.com/en-lotusrc-t...it-p233935.htm but not exactly sure what it means by 'KIT' soldering/building I'm guessing
where is this one is built? - http://www.hobbywow.com/en-lotusrc-t...gbp&country=GB
i have trashed 2 of the T380, knowing what i know now i would not go with t380 again, i have managed to make a 3rd from the parts of 1 & 2 BUT i am not happy with its build, arms twist on impact & knock out the motors alignment
very easily,
im looking at a PF450 prebuilt. Around £190, built in the uk by this guy in halifax just bind & fly just ad radio gear,(i have my own radio gear & 4 Spare batterys)
