Default connecting wireless router to superhub

I just got a super hub as a freebie from ntyell. The superhub has 4 sockets on the back all is fine with it. I was trying to connect the old wireless router to this to give me additional ports to plug in other things. When i tried it came up as a error (yellow question mark). Do i need a Xover cable or cant this be done

I know about setting to modem mode. and that defeats the point of trying to use the ports on both

No need for crossover cable but make sure to disable dhcp on the old one.

This will get you up and running, then in a few weeks once you've noticed the wifi on the virgin drops you may wish to set your new router in modem only mode and get your other router to handle the rest - loads of people have found that is the only way they can use them reliably.

    Thanks to Over Carl

you need to plug into the first port and set the router as modem only. and it will work fine. I do this with my billion bipac router

Then just disable dhcp on the old router and it should work.

Forgot to add, if the old router has an ethernet port for wan, don't plug anything into that socket.

yep, disable dhcp on the 615 and don't use the 'internet' port

This will leave you 3 free ports on each switch you can use

I would also disable the wireless on one of the routers or you will have 2 SSID's

Or match the wireless settings on the old box to the new and laptops should be able to hop between them depending on which signal is stronger.
