    Default New Cabinet Build

Well ive been redoing my hyperspin front end over the past few days and adding new games and wheels
getting all the emulators to work properly

I have now decided to start a new cabinet from scratch
Im going to build a 4 player cab ive got the plans for one but i need a 27" monitor
so im on the lookout for one (if you got one let me know I will make you an offer)
Worse case i can use a lcd
    anyways
what im intending to do is do a build my own cab thread
I will update this as regular as I can and will include prices and photos
Im going to start the build when the kids go back to school so dont expect and update for a few weeks
Im open to ideas for themes so lets have em

    Thanks to Modcoms

I'm in the middle of mine at the moment, just need to sort the sound out and update a few things, but fundamentally its working. I sacked off Hyperspin as the AMD64-4000 just couldnt cope with it.
With regards to the monitor, LCD is a nice and easy option, but at the size you want, I doubt very much you will find a 4:3 ratio model to put in there.

I'm just putting the finishing touches to the actual building side of mine, been working on it for about 10 days and I'm at this point....

The only problem I'm having is getting a marquee.I tried splitting one into four and printing it on photo paper but lining it up is impossible and you can see light in between.

Where did you get yours from for your original one Modcoms?

    Thanks to B.I.G.

The Original one was purchased online i will find out the name of the suppliers as they had over 100 to choose from

as for the monitor ive got the plans for the same cab that incorperates a 28" lcd so it looks as if that is the option im going to go for

    Thanks to Modcoms

Nice one modcoms,I've got all my stuff of them and never seen marquees the website is awfully laid out and I'm to impatient for those turnaround times and I've thought on...my ex bro in law has a business printing stuff like posters so I will ask him to do me one (although I've only spoken to him about twice in the last 3 years)...and if it goes well I might see if he'll start doing some for folks on here.

Anyone got any idea what these shop bought marquees get printed on?

Upgraded my cab yesterday with a new board, processor (AMD A3400 or something), and 4Gb ram....and also a 128gb SSD.
I have made the jump to Windows 7 on it, and it boots to Maximus Arcade in a flash now, very impressed. On the downside, the onboard graphics are Ati, and Visual Pinball has an issue with Catalyst drivers beyond 8.2 or something, and consequently pinball is awfull on it, and I dont have a spare PCIe card to try in it...though my mate is going to dig one out for me from his loft. Fingers crossed it will fix that issue.
