Default New SSD drive keeps freezing Windows 7.

I recently got a new Motherboard and Chip and decided to get myself my first SSD to run Windows 7 on.
Installed Windows 7 without a hitch in AHCI Mode and the BIOS had no problem finding it.

However, it's been in about 3 days and I'm getting hangs at least 3 times a day.
Do I need to run it in IDE Mode (I'm new to the world of SSD)?

It's an OCZ Vertex Plus R2 if that makes any difference.
I know early SSD's had some issues but I'm not sure if this was one of them.

    Any ideas?

    --EDIT
Forgot to add that everything was running fine on a conventional 500GB SATA Drive.
