Black Ops 2 WiiU runs at full HD 1080p / 60fps

Activision has confirmed that Black Ops 2 is also coming to Wii U. This version has 'full HD, 60fps and triple-A graphics'...

After lots of rumors, Activision has confirmed that Black Ops 2 Wii U is coming to the console game launch window.

Activision publishing executive Eric Hirshberg stood on Nintendo's stage at the special press conference in NYC to state that Wii U owners will get "the full Call of Duty" experience.


To run at 60 frames-per-second, the game will support ‘True HD’ and will the console’s GamePad controller. You’ll be able to play with friends split-screen, one player using the controller screen, and one the TV, or play the entire game on the controller.


Besides Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Activision will release 007 Legends, Transformers Prime and Skylanders Giants for the console.

Remember, the Wii U will be released in the US on November 18, priced at $299 for the basic model and $349 for the premium version. It will be released on November 30 in Europe, with no price confirmed as of yet.

Would be disappointed if it didn't run at 1080p considering it's a next gen console.

cod games native resolution is actually 1024x600 on consoles, so when they say 1080p i guess the mean the console will output 1080 just like current consoles - i doubt its gonna run at 1920x1080 at 60fps

Surprised the word Colour has not been mentioned... HDMI is far too advanced.

Next gen consoles should now be throwing out 2k or 4k resolution and downscaling to HD until TV's can handle those resolutions.

If the 360 is to go by, the life could be 7+ years for the machine and TV's will have moved on a long way by then

Current consoles output 720p, 1080p is 4 times that, 4k Is 4 times 1080p. If you truly believe that a next gen console is going to output 4k resolution for gaming then you are sadly mistaken. 60fps @ 1080p will be pushing it and it will more likely be 1080pm@ 30fps for most games.4k maybe for video playback.

Most people cant tell the difference between 720p and 1080, hell some cant tell the difference between SD and HD, I really cant see 4k being any less DOA than 3D was.

I can only see 4k being taken up by serious home cinema nuts and commercial outlets, I've had my 720p plasma for about 6 years now and its not showing any signs of dying just yet, it'll do fine for as long as it will last.
