VU+ Duo CrossEPG not working properly

This was working properly and showing all info for channels with synopsis etc but now some channels are blank and everything I have tried does not fix it.

EPG data is set to save to internal HD
I have opentv providers set to s** UK open tv
I have downloaded these manually
I have CrossEPG set to download at 4am every morning
It does not work any more - if I do a manual download it appears to work but I get blank info for channels

My net has been down / on and off for the last 6 weeks so just thought it was due to that but now I have that back it still does not work properly

Any ideas? this is doing my nut in now

Try using USB stick in stead of hdd formated to fat32

Yes, agree with bobo. If you try and store the EPG on your hard drive the hard drive is constantly getting used.

Will do a factory reset tomorrow and start again from scratch

I've had this exact problem....it was something to do with ticking astra 28e in one of the settings....ill see if I can find where it was.

Got my epg back working - XMLTV Providers -> Rytec Uk XMLTV -> download

How are you getting on with Vix 3 ? I'm still on 2.4, I daren't mess with a working system !

When the box is shut down instead of stand by it removes them.

Best to leave it on stand by.

My epgs are saved on the HD and it works a treat.

Also i use the open tv prezzy as it was more consistant

Dont use the XML providers they are dependent on the website working at the time you download your EPG. You should always use the open tv option as it builds the EPG from skys stream. Sometimes the EPG files get corrupted on your HDD you just delete any crossepg data on your hard drive and re-download it.

Box shutting down does not delete epg data you just need to change one of the settings to 'yes' for "reload epg data upon boot" something like that.

Remember though, EPG is held in LIVE memory so if you do delete the EPG.dat file while the box is running it will just re-write the same corrupted EPG.dat file at the next bootdown. if you need to delete the EPG.dat first kill enigma via a telnet session using the init 4 command, then once done issue the init 3 command to restart enigma and setup the EPG again.

This should take only a minute to do or seconds if your used to using Telnet sessions and FTP clients.
