    Help American restaurants in Manchester

Staying in Manchester tonight and was hoping someone here could recommend me a decent American style restaurant.

Ideally after somewhere that sells big burgers, ribs, etc... must be good quality though, not too fussed about price.

Had a crap meal in hard rock cafe last time I was there so will be avoiding that, would like to try something that isn't a chain or franchise.

I am open to other suggestions, we're staying in an apartment 10 mins away from Piccadilly Station.

    Cheers!

    Default American restaurants in Manchester

I've eaten at Southern 11 in spinningfields and Simple on tib street (as well as hard rock but won't mention that) had a good meal at both.

I would go with southern 11 by far the best place for ribs and chicken. never tried the burgers from their though. just avoid a table near the door.

Its a shame its not a Thursday you could have gone to Almost Famous which is easily the best place for burgers.

    Thanks to miffy

Southern 11 looks good - proper bbq. Although it is expensive - whole rack of baby backs, fries and beans for £22.95. Ouch. You get get them for £14.00 in Central London.

Thanks people, I'd already short listed southern eleven, currently waiting on my food now..... can't bloody wait.

Will be back one weekend to try Almost Famous Burgers too!

GBK would have been an option but already been there in Cambridge, loved it!

Southern eleven comes highly recommended, well and truly stuffed.
£15 all you can eat ribs and chicken with free peroni.... can't get better than that!

Currently sat in the alchemist, expensive but great drinks.

Must be only me who thinks the GBK is crap but I have only been to the one in the trafford centre, I do like the hard rock but I have a few friends who work in there as well so service and quality of the food is never an issue and if it ever has just send it back. £14 for a burger an fries its gonna be right.
