Info Virgin TV Anywhere is Here!

    http://anywhere.virginmedia.com/

The app is out for IOS as well.

Had a play and am pretty impressed it's very fast and responsive.

You do need a Tivo to use it though.

You need to have a Tivo box to use the service tho.

Yeah the TV anywhere rocks. Rather impressed. It's not out for Android devices yet but it will be soon I imagine. Works great on mums iPad 3 though and even via Desktop PC.

One of the features I really do like is the ability to manage your series links, recorded shows and planned recordings ALL from a PC / Tablet / Phone. No more having to navigate with the remote control. Point and Click/Touch and it's very responsive. Plus the TvGuide via tablet PC is so much better than the TVGuide app previously released. Channel search (by name or number)

At the moment there's about 45 channels that can be streamed but that will expand I believe.

The next big thing would be the ability to stream your recorded programs to a tablet device. I think it can be done if the devices are linked on the same network but outside of that, it's something that would need developing I think.

    Thanks to dpSparhawk

Only down side is it takes control of the Tivo box, so for example if I'm in the kitchen and want to watch footy it takes over the Tivo box in the other room if someone else is watching TV via it then it goes off for them

Really? So for example, if you go to TV Anywhere on an iPad or desktop PC, and choose one of the streaming channels, it stops you from using your TiVO box?, or do you have it connected onto a network with the TiVO box?

I've just started a program via my PC and the TiVO was unaffected.

Sorry mate, could you explain the conditions in which you were using it?

Can't seem to get tv channels to steam onto the iPad. Only on demand stuff. Any ideas?

have you registered your ipad via the app?

Also, on the left hand side of the Guide, there's a drop down menu. You can choose ALL channels, Favourites and Streaming. Select streaming.

    Thanks to dpSparhawk

From what I've seen of the menu there IS a provision for more than one. .

I know there's the ability to use the ipad as a remote control so looks like that's what's happening. I'll need to have a play again next time mum is visiting as I don't do Apple products

    Thanks to dpSparhawk

LOL, well I think people would be even more pissed if they didn't look into it and just left it not working
